The risk arises mainly when inks evaporate during high-speed printing, drying or mixing. Possible damage includes irritation, heart problems, nausea, headaches and cancer.

Exposure to fount solutions: Fount solutions contain isopropyl alcohol, which evaporates and can come into contact with employees. The risk is mainly present during the operation of offset printing machines. Possible injuries include eye irritation and respiratory tract irritation.
- Dangers associated with the use of cleaning products: Products used in the printing industry are made up of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as saturated and unsaturated chlorinated solvents. The risk arises mainly from the use of cleaning products. Possible damage includes irritation, heart problems, nausea, headaches and cancer.

The risk arises when using hotmelt adhesives, particularly when these are heated above the normal operating temperature. Possible damage includes respiratory and eye irritation, as well as the development of cancer over the long term.
