EXCERPTS FROM THE HEALTH AND SAFETY RISK ASSESSMENT

  • The danger of emotional strain due to customer contact: Real estate agents are subject to a heavy psychological burden: the need to mask feelings and emotions during negotiations and customer complaints. This can lead to a feeling of incomprehension, or even powerlessness and resignation on the part of some real estate agents, all the more so as the job requires constant availability and listening to customers. This can happen at any time of the year, but particularly during peak periods. The possible damage is as follows Degradation of the working environment, Stress, Anxiety, Irritability, Insomnia, Addictive behavior (alcohol, drugs), Depression, Burn-Out. It's important to take regular breaks outside the workspace to let off pressure and stress (e.g. 5 minutes outdoors every hour). There are various methods for regulating emotions and preventing stress-related damage, such as cardiac coherence and mindfulness meditation. In times of difficulty, it's important not to close in on yourself, and to find people you can trust to talk to. It's also important to know when to stop if you're suffering too much, and to consult a health professional.

  • The danger of working too long hours: Real estate agents have extremely demanding schedules, with irregular working hours and days that can end late at night. They may also have to work weekends and public holidays to adapt to their clients' schedules. There's no particular time of year. It can happen at any time of the year. Possible damage Degradation of the working atmosphere, Stress, Anxiety, Irritability, Burn Out. To reduce the risks, try to spread your workload as evenly as possible throughout the year, if possible. If the pace of work becomes unbearable, stop accepting appointments or postpone them.

  • The danger of sitting for long periods: Real estate agents have to deal with this constraint when they're in the office, where they may have to work seated for long hours. There's no particular time of year, but it depends on the task in hand (e.g. completing administrative files). Possible damage includes muscular and back pain. To reduce these risks, adapt the workstation in line with current INRS recommendations. Ensure that more comfortable office equipment is in place in the event of a problem.

The danger of falling on the same level: Real estate agents often work in unfamiliar environments. Floors can sometimes be in poor condition, and working outdoors means that floors can be littered with debris and/or muddy or wet. There's no particular time when the risk is greatest; it mainly depends on the location. The highest risks come from places where the ground is degraded, or where ladders and/or platforms have to be climbed in bad weather.

"The document, of high quality and customizable, is an excellent starting point for a topic that often takes up a lot of time. Thank you also for listening to our needs and the customer follow-up!"

"High-quality service at a very competitive price - the company fully adapted to my business and its multiple risks. This document was also reviewed by the labor inspection, which approved the quality of the work. I recommend."

I recommend the occupational risk assessment documents for their ease of use (Excel workbook) and the relevance of risks listed by profession.
